Our design process is collaborative and engaging, forming a close working relationship between our clients and designers

A detailed return brief is the starting point for a responsive design. As well as listing physical desires, such as type and number of spaces, we seek to understand how residents live and how they use spaces.

This includes analysing daily habits, rituals, personal preferences and the use of the existing spaces. The outcome forms the basis for the creative investigations and designs.

Your design continues to develop in a cyclical process of exploring, testing options and refinements until we're satisfied to have achieved to best design outcome.

DESIGN PROCESS

The process from initial contact to our clients moving into a finished project usually involves eight stages.

PRE-DESIGN
The initial discussion and getting to know the project, the client and the site. This includes obtaining a survey, developing your design brief and our site analysis.

CONCEPT DESIGN
This is where important design decision are made, we sketch, draft, design and model options for discussions. The outcome is a concept design meeting your brief and approval.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The approved concept design gets developed in detail, with input from relevant consultants.

BUILDING APPROVAL
We prepare an application for council or a private certifier to approve the Development Application or Complying Development.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION
The approved building plans are documented for construction with technical and engineering details. We submit the architectural drawings and technical details for statutory Construction Certification.

INTERIOR DESIGN
This stage design specifies and documents the internal finishes, fixtures and materials, and includes the design of kitchen, bathroom, joinery, lighting and much more.

TENDER
The tender package includes the Construction Documentation, Schedule of Finishes and Interior Design Drawing - we manage the process to tender the works to qualified builders.

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
Possibly the most important stage, we regularly meet with clients and builders on site to check on progress, answer questions and help you make decisions.
